Howl’s non-moving houseboat?

Houseboats spotted over Easter weekend on the River Adur in Shoreham.  This one was my favourite- doesn’t it look like it should be starring in its very own Studio Ghibli film?

All manner of boats from old minesweepers to passenger ferries have been given a new lease of life- rejuvenated into works of art you could actually live in.

Look closely, and you’ll spot some surprising additions.  Is that a washing machine in the side there?

And all kinds of recycled flotsam and jetsam have gone into the boat next door:

One man’s junk is definitely another man’s treasure. And with a little creativity and realignment of perspective, beauty definitely can be found (and created) where it’s least expected….

    Fiona…I absolutely loved this. I have a blog http://houseboatshantyboatbuilders.wordpress.com/
devoted to houseboats and shanty boats. I posted a link to your blog on mine so people could see you most recent post and hopefully enjoy your entire blog as I did. If you object to the inclusion of your blog on mine I will, of course, remove it.
